Fancy is an engaging and cool social networking app. The app is a portal to the main site but it gives you the ability to post, share, view, comment and ‘Fancy’ as much as you like. Described as ‘part blog, part magazine and part bookmarking tool’, Fancy is all about style and cool stuff. If you’re a fan of fashion, gadgets, style and shopping… this might well be you’re next big thing.

If I see one more wooden iPad case…

A friend recommended this app/site to me and since then I’ve been pretty addicted to it. Think of it like window-shopping on your mobile device. Fancy is all to do with style and cool. The app features user-submitted content of various gadgets, clothing, housewares, stationary, photographs and so much more. Just very cool things, all in one place. The idea is you can browse though these ‘Fancy’ the things you like (similar to liking or +1 on other social networks), comment or share. Most items are linked to where you can buy them (or at least see how much they cost!).

The UI permits you to view newly submitted content, browse categories: Men’s, Women’s, Kids, Pets, Home, Gadgets, Art, Food, Media and Other. Then you can view whatever areas that interest you the most (for me it was gadgets!). There is also the ability to shuffle through items, this is random and not just the chronologically submitted stuff.

All-in-all it’s pretty neat. The only downside, if you want to call it that, is that the network is swarming, veritably teeming, with Apple fans. For every incredibly cool see-through music speaker system or gorgeous watch there’s several iPhone/iPad related products. Seriously, there are so many wooden iPad cases here it’s a little ridiculous. This aside, it’s a fun app, easy to use and chock full of delicious items.

Fancy is a useful app to use to access the full website, and it gives you a variety of integrated options. How ‘useful’ you consider window shopping in this way is down to you, but if you have a massive budget, this is great for finding cool gifts!

Without a doubt, fancy is incredibly easy to use. It’s very intuitive and straightforward to Fancy, comment, view, explore and share.

I personally tend to check out the new posts every couple of days. There’s always a slew of new content and it’s a fun way to wind down.

The interface is incredibly simple. Well designed (naturally for the type of app it is!) and easy to navigate it’s also responsive and fast. Perfect for browsing.
