KDDI is looking to bring back cool in Japan by continuing its ressurection of the Infobar designer series phones. Expected to launch in a few days, the C01 smartphone brings a 3.2-inch, 16:9 (850 x 480) screen with 306 PPI, a traditional “ten-key” Japanese keypad to the bottom and Gingerbread 2.3 with of course a custom skin. In addition, you’ll find various features standard to the Japanese market including a one-seg TV tuner, “osaifu keitai” FeLiCa NFC, emergency earthquake notifications and infrared data transfer.

The phone goes on from February 3rd, but in the meantime, you can check out the phone in action with the video below. If you’re in Japan and will jump on the phone, you’ll want to be among the first because the phone’s matching leather case is limited to 1,000 units.

Best Buy Set To Release Galaxy Note Phone February 14th, $249.99 Pricing For Telus And Bell Versions

Canadians are rejoicing today because they are set to receive the awesome Samsung Galaxy Note next month. Best Buy Canada has just confirmed it will unleash the phone to the masses February 14th for a cool $249.99 on a 3-year contract. Considering AT&T is set to release the phone around February 19th in the States, Best Buy’s release date looks to be accurate. Best Buy lists the device will operate with mobile carriers Rogers, Telus and Bell, though pricing information is mysteriously absent for the Rogers version of the phone. No word yet on off-contract pricing, but you can expect it will be around or over the $600 mark. If you’re in Canada and you fancy a Galaxy Note, head on over to your local Best Buy store and pre-order that bad boy today.

AT&T Galaxy Note arrives February 19 for $299

Previously announced at CES, AT&T has now provided a launch date for the Samsung Galaxy Note. Customers who pre-order the Galaxy Note, starting February 5, at att.com/galaxynote will receive the device by February 17. For those who wish to purchase at retail stores, it will be available February 19.

As expected, the AT&T Galaxy Note will retail for $299 with a 2-year agreement and require a minimum monthly data package (starting at $20/mo). The February 5th pre-order date also happens to be on the same day as Super Bowl XLVI, which Samsung has announced they will debut a new commercial. Coincidence?

“The Galaxy Note brings a new level of efficiency to busy customers who would normally rely on multiple devices,” said Jeff Bradley, senior vice president, Devices, AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets. “This new breed of smartphone helps consumers accomplish more with a single device than ever before. The unique all-in-one experience can simplify daily life while tapping into AT&T’s 4G LTE network to let customers work even faster.”

Highlights of the Galaxy Note include the world’s first 5.3-inch HD Super AMOLED screen (1280×800), dual-core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S3 processor, 1 GB RAM, the highly advanced input tool called S-Pen, and support for AT&T’s 4G LTE network.

The Galaxy Note has already surpassed 1 million units sold overseas and we recently got to spend some hands-on time with the device at CES. If you are on AT&T, let us know if you are considering picking up this device when it launches.

AT&T to Launch New Sony Tablet ‘Crystal’ in February

If you were to walk into any local wireless carrier in search for a tablet, you would find a plethora of 3G and some 4G devices to chose from. Of all the manufacturers who make those wireless radio-packing tabs, as hard as you looked, you will not see one 3G or 4G tablet made by Sony (unless you’re in Japan and you’re looking at the Tablet S or P) – all Sony tabs are currently WiFi only. According to a recently leaked AT&T roadmap, those stats are soon about to change with a mysterious 3G enabled tablet code named the Crystal.

We don’t really know much about this upcoming tablet other than it will be restricted to HSPA+ networks, yes that unfortunately means no LTE. According to the roadmap, we should see the Crystal sometime within the first quarter for $409.99, and you can expect that price to reflect the required signing of a two year contract.

So what is the Sony Crystal tablet going to look like? Good question, but since there are no rumors of Sony building any new and improved hardware it’s thought to possibly be a revamped Tablet S. On the other hand, Sony could have a tight seal on an all new tablet design and we could be pleasantly surprised come Mobile World Congress, as that would be the most likely place for the Crystal’s unveiling. We will keep you posted as we learn more.
