KDDI is looking to bring back cool in Japan by continuing its ressurection of the Infobar designer series phones. Expected to launch in a few days, the C01 smartphone brings a 3.2-inch, 16:9 (850 x 480) screen with 306 PPI, a traditional “ten-key” Japanese keypad to the bottom and Gingerbread 2.3 with of course a custom skin. In addition, you’ll find various features standard to the Japanese market including a one-seg TV tuner, “osaifu keitai” FeLiCa NFC, emergency earthquake notifications and infrared data transfer.
The phone goes on from February 3rd, but in the meantime, you can check out the phone in action with the video below. If you’re in Japan and will jump on the phone, you’ll want to be among the first because the phone’s matching leather case is limited to 1,000 units.
