FALLEN REALMS is an engrossing and immersive RPG game for Android. Explore all the typical RPG haunts; forests, dungeons and castles. Authentic turn-based gameplay is punctuated by good graphics and rich sound. The game also features a rich plot narrative that pans out as you progress and there are some pretty neat monsters to destroy. If RPGs are your thing… this is a must-have.

Pros
Superb graphics!Atmospheric sound!Lots to explore!Effective turn-based gameplay!Weapons, things to collect and masses of characters to meet!Cons
Lots of dialogue to wade through and instructions to learn. While this is perhaps an expected thing for experienced game players, it might put off those new to the genre.Gameplay might be considered too linear for some.Fallen Realms is a genuinely immersive old-school style RPG. Unlike games like Hero Mages, Fallen Realms is more restricted in movement (really only forward) and sort-of first-person. You progress through a forest or a dungeon and as you move things appear before you that you have to defeat.
Gameplay is true turn-based and your party gets to attack whatever monstrosity appears first. It’s a game-world seemingly teeming with the evil and malcontent, expect disgruntled pixies, bandits and scorpions to name but three such enemies. Tyically you accumulate points, SP, HP, weapons, etc. (far more than you can be feasibly expected to literally carry around with you, but that is part of the charm isn’t it?) and your level increases with your experience. Scoring and other goodies can be shared through Payaya Mobile so you can boast about your latest game conquests to your friends.
Despite essentially being a series of mostly still images, the graphics are very well designed and suit the game well. The action is soaked in a rich musical score which compliments the game perfectly.
The only problem I might foresee is perhaps in the navigation. You complete a task/challenge/mission and that’s fine but then you have to go and report it to get rewards. This just felt a little bit counter-intuitive for me. Aside from this there are a lot of instructions and things to remember. While there is much done for you automatically, it’s easy to feel a little bit lost if you’re not really into RPG games. Regardless of this, the game is buckets of fun and, considering it’s free, more than worth a look for an immersive, challenging and majestic experience.
Fallen Realms is lots of fun, on lots of different levels. The gameplay, graphics, sound and RPG nature of the turn-based action is loads of fun. You can choose between several male and female characters. You get to meet a slew of characters, some very cool, some hilarious RPG cliches. There is a huge world to explore and the game will give you hours of actual gameplay.
It might be considered a little too linear for some. In essence you accept a mission then progress along a path, fighting the creatures you meet along the way. You can ‘Escape’ if your crew are taking a hiding but you still are seeming to just move forwards. For people used to being able to simply avoid monsters or strategically move around them, Fallen Realms might feel a little too old-school for some. I didn’t mind too much, but I would only consider myself an casual RPG player rather than the many armies of gamers who play them a lot.
I would say it’s as engrossing and immersively addictive as any good RPG. There’s a rolling game narrative and plot which is easy enough to follow. The game is also now part of the Payaya Mobile network so scores, etc. can be saved into the platform and you can earn/spend the Papaya currency. Additionally, there are daily bonuses and items to win, so it’s a superb addition to the game.
The graphics, as mentioned, are mostly still images (I’d say about 99% as there is some movement while attacking) but these are of very high quality. There is a distinct polish to the visual elements of the game which I feel makes up for the lack of movement.
The music in the game is very rich and atmospheric. I really enjoyed it and I think it works very well with the game without being too annoying or oppressive.
