Some of us have this dilemma. You have this amazing Android smartphone that does virtually everything yet your job insists you use an antiquated Blackberry. Just the fact of having two phones drives some people [cough me...] nuts. Reason being security, tracking and software deployment. VMware aims to ease employee and IT administrator frustrations with virtualization Android app software that allows employees to have a completely separate and secure work phone environment on a personal phone or vice-versa.
Briefly shown in this video demonstration on a Spectrum 4G phone at CES 2012, you can have separate versions of the operating system. The work environment can be managed remotely by an IT administrator, they can pre-install work productivity apps, and most important the phone can be securely encrypted; independent of the personal environment. VMware expects this software to launch in early 2012.
