While HTC’s presence was relatively minor at CES, it doesn’t mean they haven’t been plotting their intentions behind closed doors. The fine team at pocket now has just learned T-Mobile will be the carrier for the HTC Ville smartphone. In case you don’t remember, the phone features a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and Ice Cream Sandwich with a dabble of Sense 4.0 as an added topping. The phone looks to be launched sometime in the spring.
That’s not all either folks. An additional bit of news is HTC’s intention to go into the social networking arena, sort of. They will introduce a service called HTC Family, which is intended for users to communicate with loved ones on an even more personal level. The service centers around a Wall, where loved ones can leave messages for one another in addition to coordinating family events. Moreover, the service may include a geolocation feature which allows members to track one another and post their whereabouts to the wall. Further details are scarce for now, but look for more information to leak out especially as we approach the upcoming Mobile World Congress.
